CONCRETE DELUSION

The icons of power in the vision of their illusions.

Mark Rothko Art Center in cooperation with RAUMORDNUNG – society of urban arts and design NPO during the European Night of Museums 2017 presents the International Art project „Concrete Delusion”.

20.05.2017. 23:00-00:00 Light installation „Keep calm! – It’s made forever“ by Manuel Schroeder (Berlin/Germany) and Live sound performance by “action directe”: Anastasia Khodorenko (Minsk/Belarus) - voice, synthesizer, texts, Pavel Liakhnovich (Minsk/Belarus) - electric basses, sounds, Manuel Schroeder (Berlin/Germany) - electric percussion, sound system, conductor.

The art project “Concrete Delusion” devotes itself to the question how to deal with the material concrete in the form of industrial and architectural fragments and leftovers in European and Postal-Soviet countries. Based on artistic theses and through investigation of the public space new draughts are developed to the transformation and inclusion of these concrete elements in the perception by „sculptures in the public space“. Valency and transformation possibilities of the concrete fragments are made visible by artistic interventions and a new consciousness is created to sustainable aesthetics.
