The value of the collection is its retrospective aspect as well as the cultural heritage significance. The collection was created with the beginning of International Plein Air “Mark Rothko” in 2005. Mark Rothko’s name, the connection with his hometown and his traditional colour field painting inspired more than a hundred artists from all over the world to create paintings of different size that were incorporated in the Collection of the Art Centre. The Collection of Paintings consists of more than two hundred paintings which reflect interactions and reciprocation of space and human (author/genius).
