An international exhibition will close the Latgale Graphic Symposium
At 4 p.m. on Friday, 24 March, the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will close the 11th International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium with an exhibition opening and celebrate its participants.
The 11th International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium runs in Daugavpils from 10 to 24 March, having brought together nine artists from Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and Latvia into the largest international printmaking forum in the Latgale Region.
Over two intense and creative weeks, the participants are producing new artworks for the group exhibition that will close the symposium fortnight. The display will do justice to each artist’s distinct individual style and illustrate the remarkable technical diversity of the graphic medium.
Robert Rabiej (Poland), Kamil Adamus (Poland), Zenon Balcer (Poland), Inara Petrusevich (Latvia), Liena Bondare (Latvia), Siddharth Pathak (the Netherlands), Ineke Domke (Germany), Gianluca Arienti (Italy) and Marco Poma (Italy) all draw from the Latgale landscape and the urban environment of Daugavpils, artist discussions and creative workshops. Their collective input strengthens the symposium into a solid international platform towards revitalising the graphic medium in Daugavpils and raising the global visibility of the Latgale Region.
The symposium is organised by the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre and SIVIA association, with REACT-EU funding and valued support from the Daugavpils City Council.
The exhibition will add to the Rothko Centre’s 10th-anniversary programme and will stay on show through 21 May 2023.
During the opening event, the exhibition will be available free of charge.
